A vintage hardcover edition of the 1948 novel Bright Leaf by Foster Fitz-Simons, published by Rinehart & Company. It is a historical fiction book set in the North Carolina tobacco industry. The novel served as the basis for the 1950 film starring Gary Cooper and Lauren Bacal. See photos for condition. Priced accordingly.
An antique round brass vanity dresser tray with lace inset in glass. From the early 20th century. The edges are adorned with multi-colored faux jewels. Measures approx 9 “ in diameter plus the handles. It sits on four small brass ball legs. There is patina and the edge is dented or slightly bent in spots, as shown in photos. There is some dust in between the glass pieces that I have not parted to clean. I’m sure there might be a way but I’m leaving as-is. What a lovely landing spot for your jewelry or perfumes. The stories this piece could tell! The only other one I could find sold for almost $200.
