Rocky Mountain National Park

The Somewhere Series // National Parks

As I looked at the map, my inventory, and the state of our country, there was no doubt what my next location would be - let’s support our National Parks. 💚

The next few in my series will celebrate these cherished gems of our landscape and their stewards - and hope they stay protected. Today we explore Rocky Mountain National Park, here in my own backyard.

Established in 1915, Rocky Mountain National Park in northern Colorado spans the Continental Divide and encompasses protected mountains, forests and alpine tundra. It’s known for its lofty peaks, having over 60 mountains higher than 12,000 feet. It’s the home of Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous highway in the U.S. and a monumental engineering feat. The Keyhole Route, a climb crossing vertical rock faces, leads up Longs Peak, the park’s tallest mountain. A trail surrounding Bear Lake offers views of the peaks, plus over 350 more miles of hiking trails.

Check my store for individual items, and a special note that 50% of sales from all prints featured in my National Parks series will be donated to the National Parks Foundation, which raises private funds to support the National Park Service and the 400+ national parks, helping to fund projects and programs that protect landscapes, wilderness, historical sites, and places of cultural significance. I’ll include some very sweet maps and prints relating to each Park, so lots of options! Help me help them! Prints run $12-$25 depending on sizes available.

Prints celebrating Rocky Mountain National Park include the RMNP Ohs and Ahs map, Rocky Mountain flowers, Audubon elk, moose, and big horn sheep and Colorado’s flower, the Columbine.

Beyond prints, if you’re looking to decorate in a woodland or cabin vibe, look for mountain landscape paintings, antlers, animal figurines, or pennants from your favorite locations.
