Golden, Colorado

The Somewhere Series

Going to start a little series that highlights a favorite place, or a place I want to visit or learn more about! I hope you’ll help me in suggesting what you want to see too.

Couldn’t think of a better location to start than my own hometown - Golden, Colorado. A suburb of Denver, but its own little hamlet tucked between North and South Table Mesas, and the foothills at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Started as Golden City, the territorial capital of Colorado before it was a state. Home of Coors and School of Mines, all things Buffalo Bill, stunning views from Lookout Mountain, and the arch over Washington Avenue proclaiming it’s “Where the West Lives.” It was like looking in a mirror to see the face on the cover of “The Girl of the Golden West” book. That treasure I’m keeping, but everything else here is up for grabs! Where should I feature next? I have San Francisco and the Grand Canyon on tap with some really fun vintage items…

If you’re looking to decorate your home or an Airbnb or the like in Golden, Colorado, a vintage Golden map, a Lookout Mountain pennant, or some western books or artwork would be the perfect touch.
